Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast

  • in a large bowl, dissolve sugar in warm water. sprinkle yeast over the top, and let stand for about 10 minutes, until foamy.

Easy Grilled Chicken

Ingredients

  • 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
  • 1 cup fat free italian-style dressing
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1 zucchini

  • place washed chicken breasts in large sealable bag. add 1 cup fat-free italian dressing and close. let marinate for 5 to 10 minutes.
  • cut up peppers into big chunks, and zucchini into big slices. put into another sealable bag. coat with leftover dressing.
  • grill chicken and veggies over medium heat.

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 1 (14 ounce) package firm tofu, drained
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons maple syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon liquid smoke flavoring
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons barbecue sauce
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar

  • place tofu block between paper towels on a plate. set another plate on top, and put a weight on top of the plate such as a can to press the water from the block of tofu while you prepare the sauce.
  • in a medium bowl, stir together the soy sauce, maple syrup, liquid smoke, garlic powder, black pepper, barbeque sauce and brown sugar until smooth.

  • preheat the oven to the lowest temperature, around 200 degrees f (95 degrees c). line the oven rack with heavy duty aluminum foil, and place in the lowest position of the oven. place the tofu slices on the foil.
  • bake for about 8 hours, checking and turning over tofu slices every few hours. tofu jerky is done when it is hard and uniformly dark in color.

Orange Roasted Salmon

Ingredients

  • 2 oranges, sliced into rounds
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 5 (6 ounce) salmon fillets
  • 1 tablespoon lemon pepper
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey

  • preheat the oven to 400 degrees f (200 degrees c).
  • in a small bowl or cup, stir together the lemon pepper, garlic powder, and dried parsley. place the slices from one of the oranges in a single layer in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. place a layer of onion slices over the orange. drizzle with a little bit of olive oil, and sprinkle with half of the herb mixture.

  • 1 tablespoon lemon pepper
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey

  • preheat the oven to 400 degrees f (200 degrees c).
