Buttermilk Oatmeal Bread

Ingredients

  • Servings: 1
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

    Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

    Ready Time: 1 hr 40 mins

  • mix oats with buttermilk. let stand for 1/2 hour.
  • stir oil, egg, and brown sugar into oat mixture. stir together flour, baking powder, soda, and salt: mix into oat mixture. pour batter into a greased and floured 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 inch loaf pan.
  • bake at 350 degrees f (175 degrees c) for 55 to 60 minutes, or until done.
