Cran-apple Cobbler

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 4 1/2 cups peeled cored, coarsely chopped cooking apples
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh cranberries or 1 1/2 cups frozen cranberries
  • 1/2-3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon grated orange zest
  • 3/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1/4 cup cold butter
  • 1/4 cup milk

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 375°f.
  • 2 grease a 9-inch round cake pan or pie plate.
  • 3 in a large saucepan, combine the apples, cranberries, sugar, flour, orange zest, and orange juice.
  • 4 bring to a boil; lower heat, cover, and simmer for about 3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until apples are nearly tender.
