Butter Dumplings

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon cold butter
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 6 tablespoons milk
  • 1 tablespoon finely minced parsley
  • butter

Recipe

  • 1 in a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder and salt.
  • 2 cut in the cold butter with a pastry blender till mixture resembles coarse oatmeal.
  • 3 add the egg, milk and parsley.
  • 4 blend lightly, don't overmix.
  • 5 drop by approximately 6 tblsful on top of the simmering liquid.
  • 6 cover tightly and cook over medium-low heat for 20 minutes.do not lift the cover during the cooking process.
  • 7 serve in bowls, topped with butter.
