Cap'n Crunch French Toast

Total Time: 35 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 8 slices french bread, 1/2 inch slices (texas toast will work as well)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk or 1 cup half-and-half cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
  • 4 cups crushed cap'n crunch cereal
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup confectioners' sugar, for dusting (optional)

Recipe

  • 1 in a large shallow bowl whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla and nutmeg.
  • 2 soak the sliced bread in the egg mixture, turning over to make sure both sides are evenly covered.
  • 3 pour the crushed cereal into a shallow bowl and evenly coat the egg soaked bread.
  • 4 in a large skillet heat the 2 tablespoons butter and 2 tablespoons oil over medium heat.
  • 5 place 2รข€“3 slices of the bread into the pan and cook until golden brown (approximately 2 -3 minutes on each side).
  • 6 dust with confectioners sugar and serve immediately.
