Cantaloupe Sorbet

Total Time: 2 hrs 15 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 2 hrs

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 cups fresh cantaloupe or 4 cups frozen cantaloupe, chopped in bite sized pieces, slightly thawed
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Recipe

  • 1 mix together sugar and water in a heavy saucepan.
  • 2 bring to a boil.
  • 3 reduce heat to low, and simmer and stir until sugar is melted.
  • 4 remove from heat, place in refrigerator and cool completely.
  • 5 puree cantaloupe and lemon juice, and sugar water.
  • 6 start ice cream maker and pour mixture through hole in lid.
  • 7 freeze according to ice cream maker directions.
