Danish Aebleskivers

Total Time: 20 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 5 mins

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup whole wheat flour
  • 3/4 cup flour, all-purpose
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 large eggs, separated
  • 1 cup milk
  • vegetable oil, for cooking
  • 2 bananas or 2 peaches
  • powdered sugar, for dusting

Recipe

  • 1 stir together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.
  • 2 mix egg yolks and milk together well.
  • 3 add this mixture to the dry ingredients.
  • 4 stir until just blended.
  • 5 beat egg whites until stiff and fold them into batter.
  • 6 heat aebleskiver pan.
  • 7 spoon 1/2 teaspoon oil into each section and fill 2/3 full with batter.
  • 8 cook over medium heat until bubbles appear.
  • 9 turn with a fork or skewer and cook the other side until lightly browned.
  • 10 to vary flavor, add a slice of banana or peach to each section before it is turned.
  • 11 dust with powdered sugar and serve with butter and jam or found this recipesyrup.
