Chocolate Sorbet

Total Time: 6 mins Preparation Time: 1 min Cook Time: 5 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 1/3 cups water
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 4 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Recipe

  • 1 bring water and sugar to a boil in a saucepan, stirring often to dissolve the sugar.
  • 2 whisk in cocoa powder until smooth.
  • 3 bring to a boil; simmer for 1 minute.
  • 4 pour cocoa mixture over the chopped chocolate and whisk until smooth.
  • 5 add vanilla, cover and chill until cold.
  • 6 freeze this mixture in an ice cream maker according to your manufacturer's instructions.
  • 7 when frozen, transfer to a freezer container, press a piece of wax paper to the top and freeze until firm, for at least 3 hours.
