Deluxe Acorn Squash

Ingredients

  • Servings: 2
  • 1 large acorn squash
  • 1/4 lb ground lamb
  • 1 large apple, peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • to taste butter

Recipe

  • 1 cut squash in half, and remove seeds.
  • 2 cook, covered, in boiling water for 10 minutes.
  • 3 scoop pulp from shells.
  • 4 cook lamb until brown; stir in apple and pulp.
  • 5 cook over medium heat for 10 minutes, stirring often.
  • 6 add sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, and slat; mix w ell.
  • 7 spoon into squash shells; dot with butter.
  • 8 place shells in a shallow pan; bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
