Chocolate Frosting

Ingredients

  • Servings: 10
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 3 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar (sift if lumpy)

Recipe

  • 1 combine melted butter, cocoa and salt; then add milk and vanilla.
  • 2 mix in sugar in 3 parts.
  • 3 mix until smooth and creamy. add more sugar to thicken or milk to thin, if needed, for good spreading consistency.
  • 4 frosts 2 - 8 or 9 inch layers or a 13x9 inch cake.
