Delicious Milk And Honey Bread - 2 Loaves

Total Time: 2 hrs 35 mins Preparation Time: 2 hrs Cook Time: 35 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 package active dry yeast
  • 2 1/2 cups warm milk (110âº-115âº)
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine, melted
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 8 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Recipe

  • 1 in a large mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk.
  • 2 add honey, butter, salt& 5 cups flour; beat until smooth.
  • 3 add enough remaining flour to form a soft dough.
  • 4 turn onto a floured board; knead until smooth& elastic, about 6-8 minutes.
  • 5 place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top.
  • 6 cover& let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
  • 7 punch dough down& shape into two loaves.
  • 8 place in greased 9x5x3" loaf pans.
  • 9 cover& let rise until doubled, about 30 minute bake at 375º for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
  • 10 cover with foil if necessary to prevent overbrowning.
  • 11 remove from pans& cool on wire racks.
