Ingredients
- 1 package active dry yeast
- 2 1/2 cups warm milk (110âº-115âº)
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine, melted
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 8 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
Recipe
- 1 in a large mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk.
- 2 add honey, butter, salt& 5 cups flour; beat until smooth.
- 3 add enough remaining flour to form a soft dough.
- 4 turn onto a floured board; knead until smooth& elastic, about 6-8 minutes.
- 5 place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top.
- 6 cover& let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
- 7 punch dough down& shape into two loaves.
- 8 place in greased 9x5x3" loaf pans.
- 9 cover& let rise until doubled, about 30 minute bake at 375º for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
- 10 cover with foil if necessary to prevent overbrowning.
- 11 remove from pans& cool on wire racks.
