Cauliflower-capsicum Delight

Ingredients

  • Servings: 1
  • 1 medium cauliflower
  • 4 big green chilies
  • 1 tablespoon ginger
  • 1 tablespoon garlic
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper powder
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • salt
  • oil
  • 1/2 cup green peas
  • 1 red capsicum
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup self-rising flour
  • coriander leaves (for garnishing)

Recipe

  • 1 add cauliflower florets to water and let it boil for 5 minutes.
  • 2 drain.
  • 3 now pour oil in a heavy bottomed vessel, just sufficient to fry the florets.
  • 4 meanwhile, put self-rising flour in another vessel and add the cauliflower florets to this.
  • 5 then, deep fry the florets in hot oil.
  • 6 keep aside.
  • 7 in another pan, heat a little oil.
  • 8 fry the onions until golden-brown in colour.
  • 9 add green chillies, chopped tomatoes, green peas (cooked) and the capsicum.
  • 10 cook for 10 minutes.
  • 11 add salt and turmeric powder.
  • 12 grind together ginger, garlic and peppercorns together.
  • 13 put this paste into the onion-tomato mixture.
  • 14 towards the end add the fried cauliflower.
  • 15 mix well.
  • 16 simmer for 5 minutes.
  • 17 before serving, garnish with corriander leaves.
