Aussie Scones

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 225 g self raising flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 dash salt
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons caster sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 50 g butter

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven until very hot!
  • 2 melt butter, beat egg in a bowl and add milk.
  • 3 mix baking powder, sugar flour and salt in a bowl.
  • 4 pour 1 into 2, mix - not too much.
  • 5 tip onto bench/board that is floured.
  • 6 mix together until smooth.
  • 7 pat down to ca. 2cm thick.
  • 8 cut out.
  • 9 push together slightly.
  • 10 bake in moderate / hot (225°c) oven for 12-15 minutes.
  • 11 serve with creme and jam (and tea!).
