Cloverleaf Rolls

Total Time: 2 hrs 20 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 2 hrs

Ingredients

  • 2 (1/4 ounce) packages active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm water (110*)
  • 1 1/2 cups warm milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 6 cups all-purpose flour

Recipe

  • 1 in a mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in water. beat in milk, sugar, egg, shortening, salt and 2 cups flour until smooth.
  • 2 stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough.
  • 3 turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minute.
  • 4 place in a greased bowl, turning once to coat top.
  • 5 cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hours
  • 6 punch dough down. roll into 90 balls; place three balls each in greased muffin cups.
  • 7 cover and let rise until doubled, about 45 minute
  • 8 bake at 375* for 12-14 min or until golden brown. cool on wire racks.
