Buttermilk Quick Bread

Total Time: 55 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 45 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 12
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 2 large egg whites

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350.
  • 2 lightly spoon flour into a dry measuring cup; level with a knife.
  • 3 combine flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
  • 4 make a well in the center of the mixture.
  • 5 combine the buttermilk, butter and egg whites, stirring with a whisk.
  • 6 add wet mixture to the flour mixture and stir until just moist.
  • 7 spread batter into an 8 x 4 inch loaf pan coated with cooking spray.
  • 8 bake at 350 for 45 minutes or until a pick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • 9 cool 10 minutes in the pan on a wire rack; remove from pan. cool completely on a wire rack.
