Competition Beans

Ingredients

- 5 (16 ounce) cans red beans 
 
- 1 1/2 cups barbecue sauce, see recipe for fat cat spicy sauce, but your own is fine 
 
- 1 cup catsup 
 
- 1/4 cup molasses 
 
- 1/4 cup brown sugar 
 
- 1/2 cup beer 
 
- 1/2 cup apple cider 
 
- 1 onion, chopped fine 
 
- 4 slices bacon, chopped 
 
- 2 garlic cloves, chopped 
 
- 2 tablespoons olive oil 
 
Recipe
- 1 drain beans. 
 
- 2 in a dutch oven fry bacon till crisp, do not drain grease, and add 2 tbsp olive oil. 
 
- 3 add onion, and soften (about 5 minutes). 
 
- 4 add garlic. 
 
- 5 add drained beans and all other ingredients. 
 
- 6 simmer 2 hours at least before serving (1 hour covered, 1 hour uncovered).
